I love the whole instant gratification thing and I have never been known for my willingness to wait for something to happen, but sometimes I will order whatever it is online just so I can feel the gratification of getting something in the mail. Bills are no fun, junk mail is usually useless, but seeing that personal card is always great. The one thing that beats out all of that is when I find that little slip of paper saying there is a package too big to fit in our tiny little mailbox. What makes that little slip of paper even better is when noone was expecting anything, which is exactly what happened last Friday.
When the roommate’s parents took a trip to Bloomington a few weeks ago they asked for recommendations of places to eat, and because we recently decided no one on earth should visit Bloomington without eating at FARM, that is just what we recommended. It turns out the parents were such big fans of FARM that we started receiving emails with recipes from the restaurant. Little did I know that these recipes were coming straight from the FARM Cookbook, which showed up in our mailbox as a wonderful surprise. I had no idea that the restaurant’s chef had a cookbook, because if I did, it definitely would have graced my bookshelves quite some time ago.

I can’t wait to spend this summer cooking EVERYTHING in this book. Seriously, if you ever find yourself in Bloomington, IN and have yet to eat at FARM, please do yourself a favor and stop in for a bite. You won’t regret it.
Don’t worry, I plan on blogging every delicious minute of it!…And thanks Roommate’s parents! Life is about to get a bit more tasty.

No one ever had a better thank you note, Honey. What a delight to send it to you. I’m going to order one for myself because I’m afraid I’ll get the library copy gooey. It is such a beautiful book! I can see it will lead to ordering spices whole. I did use my coffee grinder to make one combination. Coffee was a little suspect next day, but I didn’t say a word! Enjoy.
